“We found that this training was really good at emphasizing the idea that small steps can eventually lead to great improvements… we can now begin implementing small-scale changes as soon as tomorrow!”
Following the conclusion of their Kaizen Business Improvement training, we caught up with the team at Cheng Xin Ship Management in Singapore to gather their insights and feedback. Their testimonials are provided below:
What were your primary goals for this training, and what made you choose Reskill to help you achieve them? How was your experience with the Reskill team?
We decided to appoint Reskill to conduct this training, as they took a proactive approach to understand our training needs. Some of our business processes were in need of a great revamp, so our primary goal for this training was to make sure all of our employees were on the same page. The Reskill team was very professional in their approach, and they were consistently quick to respond to any and all communication.
Was the training content clear, well-structured, and engaging?
Yes, the training content was well designed and easy to understand. The flow of the presentation made sure that participants were engaged with the content throughout the entire session, and the instructor did an excellent job explaining all of the concepts very clearly.
Before the training, what were your biggest challenges related to this topic?
At our organization, each department had different views on how to improve business processes, so we wanted to take an approach that would unite the workplace and allow for inter-departmental cooperation. We realized that if we weren’t able to create a cohesive work environment, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the results we desired.
What was your single most valuable or impactful takeaway from the session, and how do you plan to apply that to your work?
We found that this training was really good at emphasizing the idea that small steps can eventually lead to great improvements. When considering organizational changes, we believed that the standard was to make large, significant changes. However, this training underscored the importance of small, yet continuous, growth. I think this was the most important takeaway from this training, as we can now begin implementing small-scale changes as soon as tomorrow! It also taught us that change is not always implemented on an organizational level, and that many times individuals also have to take the initiative to accept and implement change. We believe that the Kaizen training successfully conveyed these concepts to the participants, and we hope to see employees making small changes to their workload to improve the overall efficacy of the company.
How did the instructor’s approach to teaching and facilitation contribute to your learning experience?
Mr. Tan was very knowledgeable about this topic, and the experiences and advice he offered allowed us to consider the issues we were facing from different perspectives. Moreover, he remained focused the entire time, and always brought the participants back to the core ideas of the topic.
Did this training meet your expectations? Would you recommend this training to other teams facing similar challenges?
This training definitely met our expectations, as even though it was a short, half-day course, the hands-on experiences and skills gained from this experience are more valuable than just theoretical knowledge. We also felt that the instructor’s guidance really brought the entire training together. This training was very effective at providing alternative solutions for dealing with issues and achieving growth, and we highly recommend it to other teams facing similar issues.
