We spoke with the team at PHR Technical Services to get their thoughts on the custom e-learning training we developed for their company. Here's what they had to say:
What were your primary goals for this training, and what made you choose Reskill to help you achieve them?
Our primary goal for this training was to educate our office members on the Japanese principles and methods regarding efficient business communication. HoRenSo was the simplest, yet most effective, concept we felt would suit our company’s needs, so we were relieved to find Reskill offered a course specifically on this concept. We could not find any other company with this training offered at such a reasonable price.
Was the training content clear, well-structured, and engaging? Did the instructor effectively deliver content?
Yes, it was clear and well-structured. The self-reflection exercises were a great way to stay engaged with the content, as this was an e-learning course, and we could not engage directly with the instructor. Despite not being able to interact with him directly, Mr. Bate's tone and pace was well suited for our team members, and his facilitation was easy to follow. I would recommend him for clients whose first language is not English.
Before the training, what were your biggest challenges related to this topic?
Streamlining the concept of HoRenSo and implementing its practices in the workplace was challenging. There were no other courses or training materials available online that we felt aligned with our needs. We knew the concept of HoRenSo was an important topic to teach, as we have people from different cultural backgrounds (many of whom English is not their first language). Since the primary language spoken at the office is English, it was sometimes difficult to communicate clearly and effectively with each other, especially without any framework to follow. The HoRenSo framework is straightforward and impactful, which is what we aimed to implement with this training.
What were your most impactful takeaways from this training, and how will you apply these to ensure the future success of your organization?
The provided framework for successful business communication will serve as a useful tool for our team members moving forward, and many participants said they plan to refer back to the presentation that was shared with them. They also expressed that they learned something new, especially from the self-reflection exercises.
Did this training meet your expectations? If so, would you recommend this training for other organizations facing similar challenges?
Yes, it was perfect for our needs. It took just over an hour to complete all the sections, and the self-reflection exercises and final assessment helped us to digest the information and retain the concepts better. We would recommend this training to companies who may want to add introductory business training modules during their new hire onboarding process. We will definitely be keeping this course for training all new hires/
